Christmas at Kew is a dazzling trail of festive lighting at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. Christmas at Kew takes place on selected dates between November & January. We are cruising between Westminster & Kew on selected days during November & December, a river cruise is the perfect way to travel to Christmas at Kew.

Travel to Christmas at Kew by Boat

A cruise from Westminster Pier to Kew Pier takes approximately 1-hour, 30-minutes & passes through the City of Westminster & a number of London Boroughs including Chelsea, Wandsworth & Putney before arriving in the upper reaches. The next stage of the journey cruises through Hammersmith, Barnes & Chiswick, following the winding path of the river round islands & stately homes before arriving at Kew Pier. During the cruise we will pass beneath a number of London’s iconic bridges & pass numerous landmarks including Westminster Bridge, the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament), Lambeth Palace, Battersea Power Station, Chelsea Bridge & Albert Bridge.

The cruise takes place on a traditional river Thames passenger boat with indoor & outdoor seating, a fully licensed bar, heating & toilet facilities. A river trip to Kew makes an excellent day out for tourists & locals alike & allows up to 4-hours & 30-minutes* ashore at Kew to explore the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew*, Kew Palace*, the London Museum of Water & Steam*, the National Archives or enjoy lunch at one of the many riverside pubs & restaurants. Alternatively passengers can enjoy a cruise from Kew to Westminster & remain onboard to return to Kew or disembark at Westminster Pier & make their own way back to Kew.

Kew Pier is situated on the South Shore of the River, East of Kew Bridge. Walk past Kew Bridge Arches towards the river & turn right. The entrance to the pier is next to our green ticket office adjacent to Kew Bridge Playground. Please check in at our ticket office at least 10 minutes prior to departure.

In addition to our public cruises, we can also provide private charters. A private cruise is the perfect choice for families, groups or corporate clients who are visiting the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. We own & operate Kew Pier which is just a six minute walk from the Elizabeth Gate. We can provide transportation to or from Kew Pier or a daytime or evening river cruise to complement an event taking place within the Royal Botanic Gardens Grounds. All our vessels have an open deck, fully licensed bar, heating & toilet facilities onboard.
